Kurt Nelson, MBA President & Owner |
Kurt is a nationally recognized leader in human motivation, team development, and meeting design. For over thirteen years, Kurt has worked on developing and delivering motivational programs, training sessions, team
building events, strategy initiatives and interactive meeting sessions that get people to work more productively
and effectively. He is President of The Lantern Group, a motivational consulting and marketing company based
in Minneapolis and Boston. Kurt's recent work has focused in on helping pharmaceutical companies increase the motivational level and subsequent performance of their sales forces. Specific focus has been on increasing the effectiveness of incentive compensation plans for sales representatives, maximizing the use of extrinsic rewards, and developing sales effectiveness blueprints. In 2006 one out of every four pharmaceutical representatives in the U.S. had their incentive compensation plan rolled out to them by Kurt and The Lantern Group. Kurt has also done significant work in the area of improving large and small group meeting dynamics by integrating experiential activities, expert lectures, styles inventories and gap analysis work. Over 60,000 people have participated in programs that Kurt has designed. Although much of his work has focused on the pharmaceutical industry, he has vast experience in telecommunications, finance and automotive as well as working with a large number of different companies from around the world. Clients include Ameriprise, Biovail, Daiichi-Sankyo, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Orgenon, Scios, U.S. Bank, and many more. |

Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Dr. Ash Fry is an Organizational Development Analyst for The Lantern Group. Formerly a Major in the Australian Army, Ash has over 20 years experience in a wide
variety of business sectors, including the banking industry, the government sector, the information technology industry, and the
health/pharmaceutical industry. He is experienced in organizational activities such as leadership development, team building, motivational
enhancement, performance enhancement, personnel assessment, mentoring, and change management. Today, Ash integrates his experience as an Organizational Psychologist with his background as Operations Research Analyst to offer a unique combination of skills where he blends a theoretical outlook with a commonsense practical approach. His "people focus" combines with his data analysis abilities to provide insights in the development of both industry-based and customer-specific Top Performer profiles. Ash has worked with a variety of clients from across the world including major pharmaceutical clients Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Roche, and Sanofi-aventis. In addition to his consulting engagements, Ash serves as an adjunct professor at Baker College Online, teaching management and psychology courses, as well as developing new classes. His research interests include psychometric assessment, performance profiling, and performance enhancement. Ash is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP), as well as Lions Clubs International. |
