Teambuilding - The Amazing Race

Based loosely on the television hit “The Amazing Race” this event challenges people to interact together in a fun race against time and other teams. This event challenges people to interact together in a fun race against time and other teams. Teams would be entered into a race around, across and through the city or the property. As a team they would be required to find specific locations, complete fun Amazing Race challenges, and work together to successfully complete the “race.” The only way to do this is, of course, using the skills and problem solving talents of the entire team.

Process:

The 1st Leg
Teams complete a set number of challenges based on the timing for the event. Detours and roadblocks will be included.
These events will be a mix of both organizational challenges and team challenges.

  The Pit Stop
Teams must stop and check in at home base – teams earn points based on their timing.

The 2nd Leg
Teams will begin the second leg of the race in the order that they arrived.
Teams need to complete a set number of challenges in the second leg - a fast forward, roadblock and detour can be included.

The Finish
Teams earn points based when they finish the race.
Teams must finish by a set time.
For the last leg of the race we recommend that teams each build a bridge to get everyone across into the “future.”

Teams are required to document, or provide proof (i.e. an Amazing Race puzzle – all the pieces together can spell out a specific phrase or mission that the group has) that they actually visited all sites.

Insights:
  • This event is both fun and a great way for people to get to know each other.
  • The challenges are custom to your specific needs and can focus in on a variety of team, individual or business topics such as: Improving communication, building trust, strategic planning, leadership, leveraging individual knowledge and skills, and creativity.
  • Your team will come away with many fun stories, great new friends and a better understanding of each other.

Rave Review
“This was so perfect for our group. We were able to take a series of issues and have them all addressed in a way that made it fun for everyone.”
